Re: Importing and processing Dense Cloud Data from Agisoft Photoscan

Hi Geronimo & Daniel, I agree with Daniel, it sounds like some decimal places might have been cut. So coordinates will be restored after global shift and re-safe, but what I have been dying to ask Daniel for ages is, if you generate some new processed point cloud from the original, e. g. by appl...

Re: how i can import the model obj file with color to measurment the marker up the model

what program did you use to generate the obj? Usually when you generate/save data like a mesh or textured mesh as a obj-file, it should automatically generate the mtl and texture image files (for example if you use Agisoft photoscan (now metashape) to save your modeled object/mesh as an obj-file, yo...

Re: how i can import the model obj file with color to measurment the marker up the model

as far as I understand, the obj-file remembers the original file names of the mtl and texture files. So incase you somehow changed the file names the obj will lose the link to the mtl and texture files. So don't change the file names and keep all them files together in the same folder. Hope this hel...

Re: select point cluster by scalar field

Hi Daniel, thanks for your quick response. I forgott to mention that in my case the scalar values are only few discrete values (1 to 10). Nontheless, I appreciate there is currently no way. However, I could imagine that quite a few classification tools might result in scalar values clustering a poin...

select point cluster by scalar field

Hi, I have got a point cloud comprising points on fractures of a rocky outcrop. The point cloud has been analysed allready so that there is only points left representing a single fracture set, and it has been classified so that there is a scalar field showing an individual number for each cluster of...

viewport generation for animation plugin

Hi Daniel, I have a question about generating viewports for the animation plugin, or more precisely how to better move to the next camera position. If for instance I have a point cloud of a tunnel or cave, it is often critical to move the camera position in very small increment. Until now, I use the...

distortion of poincloud

Hi, this is a general question about understanding how registering of point clouds work - maybe I am missing the obvious. I understand that in general it should not be possible to distort a point cloud. So there is means in CC to shift/translate, rotate or scale a point cloud. Also, there is several...

Re: Running Cloud Compare on via Citrix of VMWare View

Hi Ryan, we are running CC via Citrix in combination with a server grid graphics card recently, but I am not all that familiar with all them server stuff, am just a geo. So I might not be of great help, but I could find out a couple more details from our IT guys. In terms of performance - if the fra...

Re: How to save outputs like contours and point clouds?

CC might not create a prj file, but it stores the correct coordinates, and you should be able to generate the prj file very easily in the GIS software you use - e.g. in ArcGIS you can use the Cataloge and simply set the projection etc.

Re: split point cloud based on scalar field

Hi Daniel, thanks for your quick reply and sorry for the delay - I had to test your suggestions and had some administration problems when CC safes data from command line version. However, yes, I do have many clusters. So if I follow your suggested method, I wil generate a lot of seperate files. But ...
