Re: Editing a surface

Ok, but it is possible to make a cube and edit it in a CAD environment and then import it to CC and sample points?

Editing a surface

Hi,

After having created a box in primitive factory, is there any way I can edit the surface, say in order to give it systematic (known) errors?

Voxels and grey number prediction

I am trying to put together 4 clouds representing the same model which I have done in CC but with deviations. The idea is to merge these together and split the merged cloud into voxels, then by using grey number theory representing each voxel with a singel grey number instead of the points. Does any...

Getting statistical data from ASCII files in matlab

Hi,

After I sample a couple of clouds in CC, saved them as ASCII files I want to read these files in matlab to obtain statistical data. Does anyone know a good way to do this or if there are any built in functions to do so in matlab?

Re: Point cloud of simple models

To export the cloud, be sure to select it in the DB tree (the entity with the cloud icon, and not its parent group). Then you'll be able to save it (with 'File > Save') as an ASCII/text file for instance (easily readable by a lot of programs). And the statistics tool only works for points clouds wi...

Re: Point cloud of simple models

Well, in CC you can use the 'Primitive Factory' (File menu) to create a cylinder, then play with its parameters (directly in the entity properties) and eventually convert it to a point cloud with 'Edit > Mesh > Sample points'. I also can't seem to save my point cloud nor use most of the functions s...

Point cloud of simple models

Does anyone know where I can get point cloud models of for instance a cylinder or something equally easy. In which I can edit some of the coordinates.

Re: overlapping

Sorry but I'm not sure to fully understand your question. Can you maybe rephrase it or post a snapshot of the cloud and the (overlaping?) area? I don't have the clouds yet. But basically my task will be to have two clouds, one representing a fixture and one the part that is to be fixed on the fixtu...

overlapping

If we have two point clouds, one representing a part that is to be modelled, another the fixture that is holding it. Given that we have systematic and random errors added to these (so that they represent the real part and fixture) and so that there becomes overlapping between the spaces. In what way...
