[50%] Logarithmic scale for scalars + normal visualization
Hi Daniel, ok this is soon Christmas, so it's time to make a wish list ;-) . Something that could be extremely useful : remember the scales (displayed and saturation) and coloramp parameters used to display one type of scalar (provided that the user has modified the default one). Because, when when ...

Crash on various operation with very large clouds
Hi Daniel, I've been trying to use CC to subsample (with a space constraint) large point clouds (55 millions points, even 22 millions points), but I systematically get a crash (after the octree was built and before the phase of sub-sampling). Meanwhile, it's easy to randomly subsample to get the clo...

Re: Issue with displaying negative scalars
Hi Daniel,
true : in non absolute mode, you have the correct min and max, and I can manage to have the white centered around 0 (but you have to play with the number of intervals and choosing well the min and max color saturation), but I still have some rounding errors :

Re: Issue with displaying negative scalars
Hi Daniel, excellent. Thanks for the great update. Minor issues : . There seems to be an issue with the symmetry of the color scale when the absolute saturation is on (visible for the blue-white-red color ramp). Here you can note that the white scalars correpond to 0/0.1 and 0.1/0.2 while it should ...

PCL library and binary format
Hi All, as any of you used the PCL library : http://www.pointclouds.org/ What'd you think of their file format ? http://pointclouds.org/documentation/tutorials/pcd_file_format.php#pcd-file-format With the work we're doing with Nicolas Brodu, we're now generating points clouds with a lot of scalars a...

Re: Issue with displaying negative scalars
Hi Daniel, ok, now I understand better how it works, and with the solution I suggest there's no way to change the saturation near 0 (this would require a 5th central slider for the specific case of negative values, and it would be quite cumbersome). Indeed there's no simple solution with only 2 slid...

Re: Issue with displaying negative scalars
Hi Daniel, I'm back on this issue as we are currently developing a signed difference software and we need to visualize negative and positive scalars. The problem is when you want to display scalars that are mostly negative, you cannot use the entire color scheme. In the best case, you're limited to ...

height grid projection issue [RESOLVED]
Hi, I did not try this option for sometime (it worked great the last time I used in 2010), but now it seems to be quite buggy. First, if a new cloud is to be generated, it does work : a new cloud is created but there's only 4 points in it (i double checked that the resolution i used was consistent w...

Re: Large coordinates does not display properly
HI Daniel, the solution you propose is great. I like the fact that the translation is stored in the file (I tend to loose these kind of information with time ....;-). Maybe it's time to create a new type of binary file which can hold this kind of information as well as more than 1 scalar ? Maybe an ...
