spacing of planes
Hi, am currently a bit lost with the following problem. I have a point cloud of a natural rock outcrop with say one clearly visible joint set. These joints are obvious as planar features in the point cloud or in subsequent facets (facet plugin) or planes in point-cloud-shape-detection. I like to sys...

Re: Facet plugin
Hi again, I forgot to add - the "families colors" in the Stereogram work and match with the generated facet colors, but if I use the steroplot straight on the SF (dip direction) of the points from the point cloud, the colors don't match. So the question is, is it possible to change the col...

Facet plugin
Hi,
within the Facet plugin is a Stereogram window within which you can tick to "Show families color".
I do not understand what these colors represent. Is there a way to match these colors with the color scheme used to scale the SF (e.g. Dip directions)?
cheers

Re: ccCompass
Hi Daniel,
thanks for passing this on...
I also tried to follow up the Citation mentioned in the Wiki manual on ccCompass, but could not find Thiele et al. (2017) anywhere. Is it just me having trouble accessing this paper or is there something wrong with the citation?
cheers

ccCompass
Hi, just discovered your new ccCompass plugin - sensational!!! It took me a while though to understand the orientation values from the Plane tool. I was misleaded and confused because the reading in the DB Tree is different to the Primitive readings in the properties box. It seems that in the DB Tre...

Re: Hough Normals Plugin
Hi Daniel, sorry for the late reply... thanks for your honesty, but this obviously does not realy help me. Do you know anybody who might have been successfully applying this plugin? Been trying to compare the different normal computation tools to see which one works best for me. At this stage I can ...

Re: Vertical surfaces
Daniel's suggestions works fine, but is sensitive to the relation between the size of the surfaces you want to detect, the point distance and the search radius of the normal computation. In the unfortunate case that your steep surfaces have very irregular size and some are actually very small it mig...

Re: Windows Server 2008R2 x64
Hi Daniel & Dimitri, at present we do not have the nvidia grid on our server, but we tested one via remote desktop and it ran fine. I will test the graphic power later today. re the graphic power test in Dimitri's link - the frame rate seems to highly depend on the display settings of CC, but wh...
