viewing the pointcloud data issue

Post by SMullaney »

Hi

I downloaded v2.8.1 from 2.6 and since then i seem to have issues viewing the pointcloud data. The data when zoomed right in goes into vertical lines and spaced apart so the detail dissapears. Is there a setting i need to change?

i guess it's because your cloud has big coordinates... Have you seen a message asking you to apply a 'global shift' when loading the file? Have you clicked on yes?

See http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... _and_Scale

Thanks Daniel that worked. Next issue seems to be when import control points for georeferencing. when in point match the coordinates when selected are meant to be 123456.789 but when selected they are 123456 no decimal place so there's always a 80mm error or so

Yes, this is why you should apply the global shift when loading them. CC will remember that they have been shifted, and will apply the same shift to the aligned cloud.
