Hi,
I need to apply transformation via rotation to a point cloud. CC only shows 4x digits after "dot" in the rotation angle box and I'd like to have more precision. In this particular case my point cloud is fairly close to the origin (and rotation centre point) so not so critical but would be good to know for other situations where origin is further. Any other ways to achieve this, maybe with Transformation Matrix?
A friend of mine mentioned that even though CC doesn't show more than 4 digits after "dot" it actually does take them into account when they are "pasted" in. Could someone confirm this is the case?
Precision of Rotation (Apply Transformation Tool)
Re: Precision of Rotation (Apply Transformation Tool)
Hum, I fear the digits will be truncated if you paste them in the field of the second tab. For the matrix you can use any number of digits you need, but you won't easily generate it (of course if you have an external way of generating them, maybe online or with Matlab/Octave) then it's cool).
Otherwise the only other solution would be to increase the precision of the fields and recompile CC (sorry :D).

Hi Daniel,
Not to worry. Thanks for feedback. Next time if I need to do similar operation I'll look into transformation matrix but for now its ok.
