Align by Picking give a strange result

Post by geolux »

Hello group.
I'm trying to align (or better "register") a Scan using the command align by picking.
So, I'm putting three spheres and their correct coordinates (in SR WGS84-UTM 33N). I want to fix the rotation only on the Z axis to preserve the verticality and leave free the traslation on each axis.
Well how you can see, the roto-traslation seem work correctly but reamain the "SAME" error on the Z around 42 mc.
My question is ... WHY?
Why algoritm don't traslate on Z axis the model by 42 cm?
I'm doing something wrong?

Which version are you using?

I believe we have fixed a bug with the particular case where there's only 3 points picked. Can you try with the 2.11.3 or even better, the 2.12.alpha?

Hi Daniel
thank's for your answer.
I'm working with 2.11.3, but I tried with 2.12 Alpha too, and the result is the same.
