Hello. I scanned an airport using a RIEGL VZ-600i in kinematic mode. These scans contain significant noise at the bottom of the scanned area. CloudCompare’s SOR filter does an excellent job of removing these points.
However, I have a problem. I tiled the whole cloud into almost identical parts (with ...

apply 2d scale to structured point clouds
Hello.
I am using the FARO X130 laser scanner.
Faro, as all laser scanners produce ground-scaled point clouds, and the Faro Scene doesn't support grid coordinate systems.
I aim to establish a workflow that maintains scans as structured while continuing to utilize bubble views in software like Recap ...

Hello,
CloudCompare is an excellent software for working with point clouds. However, from my perspective, the only drawback is that the viewer tends to be slow when handling large point clouds.
I wonder if it’s possible to replace the current viewer with the Potree viewer, which is significantly ...

intersect point cloud with a mesh
Hello. I have a point cloud of an airport.
I also have made some theoretical obstacle limitation surfaces.
Is there a way to classify the points which are above these surfaces?
the surfaces are NURBS from rhino but i can convert them to a mesh file like obj.
Thank you.

Re: cloud compare vs cloud compare stereo
Thank you. Very clear. Because there are some addons that only support the vanilla version. But I didn't want to loose anaglyph support.

clip a mesh
I am sure, If I haven't seen that in my dream, that in the past I was able to use the section tool in meshes. Now this tool don't affect meshes but only point clouds.
Is there any mistake from my side, or I just remember wrong?
Thank you.

cloud compare vs cloud compare stereo
What's the difference between the two versions of software?
I thought that the vanilla version wasn't support stereo view but recently I discovered that it also has this functionality.
Thank you.
