units of meaurement

Hi

I was just wondering how do you go about setting the unit of measurement as currently I am unsure what unit the scalar field is showing me. thanks!

CloudCompare doesn't handle units. It loads the coordinates as they were stored in the files. Then all values (distances, etc.) are expressed in the same units. This is what we call 'implicit units'.

But you have to know/guess what the units are of course (you have an hint thanks to the ruler in the lower right part of the 3D view and you can use the point picking tool to measures distances between points).
