This tool is accessible via the 'Display > Full screen (3D View)' 
menu.
Alternatively you can use the F11 shortcut.
Description
This method makes the active 3D view full screen.
Call this method again (via the menu or the F11 shortcut) to restore its original state.
Alternatively the user can click on the 'Leave fullscreen mode' icon that appears when the mouse hovers the top left part of the screen).
